The Latest Next Xbox Rumors – Codenames Loop and Project Ten
Rumors of what the next Xbox have already been circulating the internet.
Here are two have recently surfaced, and both rumors are quite similar besides the name given to the project at this time.
Technology reporter Paul Thurrott revealed on his Windows Weekly show that Microsoft will be “going the Apple route” with a new console codenamed Project Ten, and will be integrated with Windows 8 and Windows Phone. According to his sources, the next Xbox will also feature “embedded Microsoft Silverlight” which might power the Xbox Live TV Platform.
The next rumor comes from MS Nerd who states that Microsoft’s next console will be codenamed “Loop” and uses a modified Windows 9.
Loop will use a “Zune HD-like hardware platform—a “main” processor with multiple dedicated assistive cores for graphics, AI, physics, sound, networking, encryption and sensors.” It will be cheaper than the 360 for Kinect adoption, and smaller in size. He also believes that Loop will integrate with Windows phone, which is similar to what Paul Thurrott stated.
What do you think? This all sounds pretty plausible to me, but I would really want to know what media format the next Xbox will be adopting.
