Legendary Nintendo Developer Shigeru Miyamoto Steps Down
The legendary Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of such iconic franchises like The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros. told Wired that he is stepping down, but not retiring, from his position at Nintendo.
Miyamoto was the Senior Managing Director of Nintendo’s Entertainment Analysis and Development Division, which meant he supervised the development of Nintendo’s first party titles like the Zelda and Mario series.
He wants to work on smaller projects with shorter development cycles with plans of starting a new project with a younger staff in 2012, and he even suggested that he could even work on a project all by himself.
Good luck to Shigeru Miyamoto in all his plans!
