The team was officially started in June of 2008 and has grown to include a TV show, weekly podcasts, a radio show, and official gaming news. As the fan base has grown so has the team. We have added many new talented members to the GamesOnSmash crew and are always looking for original contributors to our blog.

Retro Weekend is a new segment from GOS. We will showcase an old school game that some of you may or may not have heard of, or the first game that started a whole franchise. The game we are going to show this week is Ninja Gaiden. You all heard about the games for the Xbox, 360 and now the ps3.

Ninja Gaiden was originally known as Ninja Ryukenden: Legend of the Ninja Dragon Sword in Japan. The arcade game was released in 1988 in North America and Europe and 1989 in Japan. Ninja Gaiden moved to the NES in America in 1989 and then Europe in 1991. It became a huge hit and went on to become the series that we all know it to be today.

    This game is a classic! After watching it, gave me a lot of old school memories.
