The 3DS has reached the five million mark today in Japan 52 weeks after its launch in February 26, 2011, which is a record for hardware sales in Japan. Game Over for Metal Gear Online

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Online and will go offline on June 12, 2012. Metal Gear Online launched with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in 2008, and even had 1.3 million members the next year.
